Dubai Government Workshop was established under the patronage of the Late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum (may his soul rest in peace) with the objective of maintaining particular government assets and ensure their reliability and enhance their performances.

 
Subsequently, by virtue of the Law No. (1) of 2008 on the establishment of Dubai Government Workshop, issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, DGW's scope of services expanded to include transportation, maintenance and insurance services for vehicles, machinery and equipment owned by various departments and entities of the government of Dubai, as well as the private vehicles of Sheikhs, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies.
